There are TWO opportunities to see In Rare Form perform this week!

 

FIRST: on Friday June 15th at 8pm we return to the Westside Comedy Theater in Santa Monica.

Tickets are ten dollars, but hit us up on the Facebook Event Page and we can get you a TWO FOR ONE ticket! 

 

And then on the VERY NEXT NIGHT (Saturday the 16th) at 8pm, we perform TAG TEAM COMEDY with The Magic Meathands!

A Tale of Two Promos

Hey Friends, it’s me Kev!  I’m a huge wrestling nerd [hold tight, this comes back to improv comedy I PROMISE].

The day after Wrestlemania (about a month ago) Brock Lesnar came back to WWE.  Shortly thereafter there was a video interview with Lesnar about his return where he basically sat there and bragged up his accomplishments while menacing bad-ass music played in the background.  WWE replayed this video several times in the following weeks [WATCH HOW AWESOME HE IS!]:

Personally, I think this promo is BAD-ASS.  As I watched it again and again, I began to wonder if I will EVER have anything to say that would warrant such an awesome presentation with menacing music playing in MY background.  Then it hit me:

 

This video was made to promote an upcoming wrestling match.

 

I’m in an improv group, and we have a show coming up.  A show that deserves to be promoted.

 

I couldn’t find the actual promo music / noise online, but have always been fond of the Brawl For All tune they used in the late ’90s and later remixed for Ezekiel Jackson.  Mr. Lander Yeoman and I went over some ideas, decided what we could directly take from the Brock video and added some new material, and we shot the following promo.

Catch In Rare Form 2 times this weekend, that’s right 2 times. First, In Rare Form returns to the westside to delight the masses at M.i.’s Westside Comedy Theatre in Santa Monica. Double Your Pleasure with IRF!

IRF has two shows, two nights in a row with NO cover or drink minimum (what that what?!?)

Check us out on Sunday, 11/13, from 7-9pm at Michael’s Bar and Grill in Burbank! We’ll be performing in the Jokes and Jambalaya show with some other great stand up comedians.

Tonight, In Rare Form returns to M.i.’s Westside Comedy Theater. The show starts at 8pm, but arrive eary and have a drink at M.i.’s newley remodeled bar area. Tickets are $10, and available at the theater or online.
